4 Different Woods, 3 Sizes, 2 Directions= 1 Unique Floor

Post

What do you get when you take 4 different types of wood that are three different sizes and lay them in two different directions on a 45 degree angle?  Besides a tricky math equation, you get a truly one-of-a-kind floor.  When Cumming homeowner, Ron, came to Pizazz seeking a unique and show-stopping bedroom floor, designer and president, Eric Barany sat down at the drawing board.  After many hours of pre-planning and sketching, his idea was to create what could be considered a mosaic hardwood floor.

The floor is composed of four different species of hardwood; Brazilian Cherry, American Cherry, Santos Mahogany, and Walnut.  The widths of the boards also vary between 5″, 3 1/4″, and 2 1/4″.  Each plank was laid on a 45 degree angle, going in two different directions out from the two-step walnut staircase, which acted as the point of symmetry.  The floor was finished with a semi-gloss polyurethane and took five days to complete.   The result was better than imagined and well worth all the time and effort that went in to making it the focal point of this stunning master bedroom.

If you’re looking for something unique to set your home apart from the rest, Pizazz Floors would love to make your design dream a reality!
